OK guys and Gals how are you transporting your dingy? We went to Catalina and borrowed a friends and the Commodore will not be seen in it again so we purchased a West Marine ridged hull 10'. I'm trying not to mount anything big on the swim step because of the diving.
Thanks

If you have a swim platform the Weaver "removable" Snap Davis with or without standoffs are the way to go. Insert when in use and remove when not. They are small, stow easily in one of your deck boxes and the remaining bases will not interfere with diving or fishing. I installed them on my 28 and my 31.
Search "Weaver Snap Davits" and you should find a few different threads.

I pull my 8ft up unto the swim platform and tie off from dinghy eyeballs to transom cleats, and 1 clean the I placed low just inside transom door. Works Great! No weavers needed, my weavers are for sale.
