SoCal Catalina cruise?

Post by Sandiegowildcat »

I have a new to me 28TE berthed in San Diego. I would love to plan an Albin owner get together at Catalina Island this summer. If there are others who might share this interest please contact me. I know there are not too many here in California but thought I would take a shot.

Hello Ken,
Our Albin, Salty Dog, is berthed in Dana Point. Would look forward to participating in a So Cal cruise.
There is a 28' Albin in Oceanside and a 36' in Huntington Beach. Perhaps they may be interested.

Ken: Would not be possible to bring my boat down as it is in Anacortes, Wa. However, we like Catalina (Avalon) very much. Our friends have a condo there & we are talking about a trip down this summer. Unless it were to conflict with our July Roche Harbor Rendezvous it is possible we could attend. Put me on your list if it looks like a go.
We got the first Pac. NW Rendezvous on the water by just contacting anyone we found with an Albin. You could post on the Rendezvous Section for possibie interests (contact John Collins) for people interested and who might be in contact. I know a 31 Albin TE owner down your way. I know he spends time out in the Channel Islands as well as Catalina and might be interested. If I see a posting will send him a note for you.

I did go cruise over to Catalina last Sept and had a great time. Would love to see if we could get a group together for this summer. I am flexible on the dates but probably late August might work best for our family. I will continue to collect interest here on the forum.

Ken: We have been looking at meeting up with our Avalon friends - and Aug. is a consideration. As I said you could post on the Rendezvous section fa or possible meet at Catalina in Aug. I am sure John Collins will help if you send him a PM. At least you would see how much interests there is in So. Cal. I know of several 28's that have come up to So. Oregon from down your way. So their must be a number of Albin's Owner's there is you can get then interested.
