Handrail gate hardware
I am looking for 2 sets of handrail gate hardware for a 36 foot trawler (1987).
If anyone has a source or has any ideas where I might find some I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Re: Handrail gate hardware
Look around for marine consignment stores. There was one in Annapolis some years ago. Still there? That one had a treasure trove of salvaged hardware from all kinds of boats. For new try Defender.com or some of the marine wholesalers. Somebody should be able to aim you in the right direction.

Re: Handrail gate hardware
Thanks for the interest. I have already sent information and pictures to every salvage and consignment establishment
that I could find on the web. New hardware won't match the existing hardware, and the owner won't accept that.
I have restored several wooden sailboats so I have sources for custom bronze hardware. I would like to avoid
that because of the time and expense.

Re: Handrail gate hardware
These parts are very hard to find. I was fortunate enough to have a friend donate a new set to me to keep as a spare. I have it under lock and key.

Try Beacons in Annapolis. I got some gate hinges and latches a few years ago. Last fall they had some.

Re: Handrail gate hardware
Hi, forgive my ignorance as I am from the UK and am not familiar with your terminology. Are you seeking the brass catches with springs that engage the rails in position.

Good morning. I just had one break on the first weekend of the season so I am now searching for a set. Did you ever get a source for the hardware?
Thanks...Vic T

I have not found any so far. If you can have yours repaired I would think
that would be the way to go.

Re: Handrail gate hardware
Bob,
I had a local marina weld the "hinge" and it is totally restored and working. The metal was of a high quality that aloowed a great weld and fix to be done. Good news this time and I am going to be extremely careful with the other rail hardware.
Thanks...Vic

Re: Handrail gate hardware
Hi Bob,
I can definately get your hardware made up once my boat is in the yard in the UK, Jonathan has looked at your pics and can use the visual reference from my boat.
