Keeping the stink out of cushions

Post by swhfire21 »

Over the years I found most cushion stink comes from the cushion sitting directly on the deck where they absorb condensation and water from those tiny leaks that pop up from time to time. A cheap fix that I’ve put on my last couple boats is to buy plastic lattice from Home Depot, cut it to shape and lay it on the deck. This keeps the cushions up off the surface allowing air in and keeps them out of the condensation. Where you have a storage hatch simply cut the plastic and screw the plastic to the lid so you can lift the plastic and lid at the same time.
