My 2000 Albion 28TE has several toggle type switches at the helm. Lights, bilge pumps, live wells, etc. However, one on the top left row is labeled "Fuel Pump". Does this in fact turn the fuel pump on and off? It has three positions. It seems right is on same as the rest of the toggles. I presume left is off?. Not sure about center.
Question, does this switch really control the fuel pump? Seems odd to have a fuel pump switch.
Also, if the switch does control the fuel pump and it is turned off while the engine is running will it cause damage to the engine due to lack of fuel?

My original dash 1999 had the upper left as Fuel Gauge.

I have a fuel transfer pump switch as my boat was equipped with a 60 gallon auxiliary tank. The pump transfers fuel to the main tank.
Does you boat have the auxiliary tank?
