Just got back from the marina and discovered this on my 31 TE twin to my horror. One of the guys working on the boat asked if i had hit something. I did not.
It seems the port strut is separating from the hull in a drastic fashion. The starboard strut seems to be starting as well. I boat is kept on a lift but the bunks are no where near the struts. The caulk seems like it is being forced out. My thought, even though I don't want to think about it is, There was water infiltration that froze over the winter. I do not believe it could have been like that in the fall because there would have been a massive vibration. I have ruled out the boat being dropped since the is no damage to either prop as they are in the same condition as I left them. They are dropping the Starboard strut today to take a look. Unfortunately the port strut is under the generator. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!
I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHY THE PHOTOS ARE NOT ORIENTING CORRECTLY!

Re: Strut Problems
Eric, so sorry you're dealing with this. I'm far from an expert, but it seems like it could be an age-related manufacturingwear defect especially after reading your follow-up post and photo on FB. I'm optimistic that this is repairable better than new within a reasonable amount of time.
Not to worry about the photo orientation -- we believe it's some kind if iPhone anomaly. When selected and opened, the orientation is fine.
