YANMAR 8LV-320 Engine/ Bimini

Post by Wilkie »

We have bought a 1998 Albin 28 which has a recently installed Yanmnar 8LV-320 with 60 hours on it!!!

The Boat has a soft top... Has anyone installed a cockpit Bimini?

Does anyone have any experience with this Engine?

Lots of 28TEs have cockpit biminis. They're all custom-made by a canvas fabricator. Check out yachtworld for ideas.

That engine pic should be considered boat porn and be flagged by a moderator!

Nice looking engine. Our 31TE is in the boatyard getting twin 8LV-370's. Can't wait to take it out!

Would love to talk about what you might be looking at as far as changes from your previous engines? Did you have a Yanmar previously?

To the original poster.

How are your performance numbers with the 8LV in the 28? Can you share cruise speed? GPH? wide open throttle (WOT)? Can you service all items needed with the new engine installed in the engine box formation?

Looking to understand a little more as we might look to reposer here in the near future!
