Fuel Gauge / Albin 36'
I have a Albin 36' with dual 175 gal. diesel steel tanks. The boat has no gauges to monitor fuel levels. My question is what other Albin owners are doing to monitor fuel levels. Both tanks fit under the decking above and were not able to get to the top of the tank. I did find a Gobius Pro monitoring system that attaches to the outside of the tank but not sure if its right or not.

Re: Fuel Gauge / Albin 36'
On the 40 I had, i could use a measuring stick on one side and with the equalizing line both tanks stayed the same.

Re: Fuel Gauge / Albin 36'
I have the single Caterpillar engine with two 175-ish gallon tanks to port and starboard of the engine. While they are mostly under the deck, a significant portion extends into the engine compartment where the top is easily accessible with the wing hatches open. That is where the fuel senders are located. My fuel gauge was unreliable, so I installed a Tank Tender. It just so happened that they are made a few minutes from my house, so I was able to go meet the owner and pick it up in person. They are a little tricky to use, but far more accurate and reliable than any float-based system. I did have to have a machine shop modify the plugs in the top of the tanks to accept the threaded coupler for the pickups, but that was easy and made installation a breeze. Extremely high quality product.
