Shower sump
The shower on our 36ET is draining very slowly. I suspect the strainer in the sump pump box is clogged. Does anyone know where the box is located. I'd like to get at it without tearing too much apart.

Re: Shower sump
Open the door at the foot of the bed in the mid sleeping quarter. It should be right there.

Re: Shower sump
Located under the mid-cabin bed. Roll back the mattress and open the hatch near the center of the boat. The strainer inside the sump box is most likely clogged - easy to get to and clean out.

Re: Shower sump
That's where I assumed I would find it, but it wasn't there. Go figure, since both of our boats were commissioned by the same dealer. I've checked through the hatches at the foot of the bed in the middle stateroom. So my best guess is that it is under the bed. I know that is where my spare props are. I wish mine was where yours is.
Did you two get some good cruising in? We sure did! Hi to Aleksa.

Re: Shower sump
We got a lot of good cruising in this summer. We made it to the San Juans. We didn't have the time to go further north this year. Next year we will do more.

Re: Shower sump
Before getting into the sump, check the plastic drain strainer on the shower floor. When I bought EvenTide in 2012, apparently no one had ever used the shower. I had the same issue on the first attempt. I popped out both strainers (white plastic discs covering the drain with holes in them) and they each had caulk in the holes from the original install. Easy fix... just peeled the cured caulk out of the holes, and the shower has drained free since. If that is not your issue, my sump is directly under the floorboard located outside of the head door.
